On July 29, 2014, John Rhodes, president and CEO of NYSERDA, and Joe Martens, DEC commissioner, held a press conference at Evoworld in Troy, NY to announce the roll-out of a comprehensive set of programs to build a regional wood-fired heating industry under Governor Cuomo’s Renewable Heat NY initiative.
Purchase of Evoworld® small commercial pellet boilers may qualify for installation incentives of up to $20,000, and purchase of large commercial pellet boilers may qualify for incentives of up to $150,000!
Renewable Heat NY is designed to build a sustainable renewable heating sector, a skilled installer base and sustainably harvested wood fuels from New York forests. The announcement included three New York State companies: Evoworld Inc., a Troy manufacturer of high-efficiency biomass heating systems; Econoburn, a cord wood boiler maker from Chautauqua County; and Vincent’s Heating and Fuel Service, a pellet boiler installer and pellet supplier from Herkimer County, as well as the New York Biomass Energy Alliance. Remarks were followed by a tour.
